To make this milestone even more meaningful, you can help repair the world by creating invaluable connections across the generations. Youth can volunteer as individuals or with their families.
Join our Intergenerational B-Mitzvah Sunday Program:
Register for a 90 minute Intergenerational Workshop where B-mitzvah youth and Older Adults explore growing up through a Jewish lens together! Each event is different and you may join us for a single Sunday or return for the entire series!
When: Sundays 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM,
- January 22
- February 12
- March 19
- April 23
- May 21
Where: DOROT, 171 W85th St. New York, NY
If the Sunday schedule doesn’t work for you, you may:
- Deliver holiday or seasonal food packages to seniors and stay for a visit
- Play chess with older adults on Mondays from 4:30–6:00 PM at DOROT
- Create and donate holiday cards
Age: Pre-Bar and Bat Mitzvah youth. Children must be accompanied by an adult for home visits.
Time Commitment: Depends on project.
Requirements: For Home Visits and Package Deliveries attend a family orientation; adults provide a valid, US government-issued photo ID.
