Visit & Connect
Connect with older adults in their homes or in the community, creating a memorable experience for everyone! Volunteers share interests, stories and companionship through our visiting programs. You can help with the use of technology or other requested tasks, and accompany seniors on excursions.
On-Site Volunteering
Engage with older adults and other volunteers at DOROT. We offer a variety of gratifying and energizing opportunities. Lead one of our programs. Serve as a greeter for our on-site events. Lend a hand in our offices or at our Homelessness Prevention Program. Select from convenient Sunday, weekday and evening options.
Youth & Family Volunteering
As part of DOROT’s community service offerings we believe in maintaining strong intergenerational bonds in the communities we serve. Fulfill a Bar or Bat Mitzvah project. Join an older adult to play chess. As a younger volunteer, you are important to DOROT’s mission – and the experience can change your life.
Internships for High School and College Students
Make a difference as a DOROT intern! Summer and school year internships are available for high school and college students interested in connecting with and developing programs for DOROT elders. This is your chance to provide community service, learn about social work, non-profit management and more.
Corporate, Schools & Community Groups
Are you looking for a special volunteer project for your school, community or corporate group? Sharing the DOROT experience builds camaraderie and morale as group members volunteer to enhance elders’ lives. We offer unique hands-on opportunities for group volunteers on selected weekdays, Sundays and evenings.
Westchester
If you live or work in Westchester County, you can make an impact as a DOROT volunteer. Share your time and create new friendships with older adults as part of our in-home visiting programs or through our intergenerational and other community activities.
